About

Hi I’m Gavin Connell. I go by the alias of gavconl. I’m a 30-year-old Illustrator/ Designer based and from Dublin, Ireland.

My professional story starts when I graduated from NCAD in 2018 with a First-Class Honours degree (1.1) in Illustration. I was also accepted as a member of the International Society of Typographic Designers and won an IDI award for illustration in visual communication. This all helped me jump straight into freelancing and work for myself full-time.

I also worked closely as a junior designer with illustration veteran John Slade of H.Y.T Studio from 2017-2018 on projects for large brands such as Nike and Vans, where I developed a range of technical skills. And taught me how to work with clients effectively. 

Since then, I have gained 8 years of valuable experience in the industry, acquiring long-time recurring clients and working with many reputable clients such as Starbucks, V&A, Lazy Oaf and more.

Commissions are currently open, and I am always eager to work with new and exciting clients!
